Logos need to be more than an illustration of a company, event or service name; when done right, they can define the character of that entity in the mind of the viewer. And as a designer, they are usually where much of the real creativity - and fun - is found. Below are a collection of recent brands I've designed for a wide variety of clients.

Fundraising starts with internal leadership, setting the pace for the rest of the community. For Hamilton Health Sciences, the leadership gifts took the form of a competition between the hospital Board of Directors and that of the hospital Foundation. The board that contributed the most money received a gourmet dinner... served by the losing board.

When two fundraising golf tournaments joined forces to create the Ron Joyce Invitational for MacKids, a logo that captured the prestige and elegance of the new event was required. This is the result.

The not-for-profit Project Bookmark Canada will be placing excerpts from famous Canadian writing on the spots they are written about. The project logo needed to communicate a connection to the process of writing, illustrated in the old-style typewriter font and stylized key form.
